Delete your account and data
You can permanently delete your Relocat account and all of the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to do it, what is removed, and how to request deletion if you no longer have the app installed.
Delete from within the app
Open Relocat and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. After you confirm, deletion is scheduled with a grace period of 7 days.
What happens after you confirm
We email you a cancellation link. You can cancel the deletion at any time during the 7-day grace period by following that link. If you do not cancel, your account and all associated data are permanently and irreversibly deleted at the end of the grace period.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- your account and all registered devices;
- all of your encrypted safes, documents, and document versions;
- all encrypted files held in cloud storage;
- all shares and access grants you created;
- your synchronisation state and any browser sessions;
- any AI assistant authorisations you have granted.
Relocat is end-to-end encrypted: your content can only be decrypted with keys held on your devices. Once deleted, it cannot be recovered.
What is retained
After deletion we keep only limited operational records, such as authentication and synchronisation logs. For details of what is retained and for how long, see our Privacy Policy.
If you can no longer use the app
If you have uninstalled Relocat or lost access to your only device, you can still request deletion. Email privacy@relocat.org from the email address registered to your account, so we can match your request to your account and verify it without access to your encryption keys. We will then carry out the same deletion described above.
How long it takes
Your account and data are deleted by the end of the 7-day grace period, once the scheduled deletion runs. Requests made by email are actioned once we have verified them as described above.
